As the Global Community and Various Stakeholders across Nigeria continue to examine and evaluate the grand propositions contained in the historic December 16, 2020 Force Majeure Proclamation, the attention of the Secretariat of the Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination (NINAS), has been drawn to a misleading article being circulated on social media suggesting that some of the names of the Signatories of the Proclamation were put on the Proclamation Document without their Consent or Authorization.
This is totally false and while it is an option to ignore the hollow mischief intended by the said article, the NINAS Secretariat wishes to state categorically that each and every signatory of the December 16, 2020 Proclamation of Constitutional Force Majeure (CFM) was duly consulted and their full consent to be signatories obtained.
The Lead-Signatories are all accessible to the Public and anyone who is in any doubt and who so desires can reach them in person to verify with them directly.
Moreover, the mere fact that 12 Days after the Proclamation, not one Signatory had raised any alarm about being listed as Signatory is indicative of the truth that all the Signatories fully consented to being listed on the Proclamation.
Let it also be recalled that the MNN Alliance, the precursor of the NINAS, was publicly unveiled in September 2006 immediately after the PRONACO Sovereign Conference of the Ethnic Nationalities of Nigeria, and so clearly predates all latter-day South/Middle-Belt Cooperation Platforms in Nigeria including the SMBLF.
It may interest us to learn that since the day after the December 16, 2020 CFM Proclamation, both the Leadership and Secretariat of NINAS have been inundated with complaints of those who are unhappy about “not being carried along” (ie invited to be Signatories) ahead of the December 16, 2020 Public Activation of the Constitutional Force Majeure since the day after the Proclamation.
Our answer to that charge has been to explain to such persons that in the kind of environment Nigeria currently presents and by the very sensitive nature of the Contents of the Constitutional Force Majeure Proclamation and Undertaking, it was impracticable and would have been ill-advised to try to get everyone or Group on board before going Public.
In mitigation however, NINAS from the same December 16, 2020 launched an online Petition tied directly to the CFM Proclamation, which will extend the Opportunity of becoming Signatories to all persons from the Alliance Territory (ie South & Middle-Belt as they sign the Petition that adopts the entirety of the CFM Proclamation, as well as the November 16, 2018 “Open Memorandum to President Muhammadu Buhari on Restructuring” by the NNAS.
Accordingly, NINAS will advise those who agree with the Grand Propositions of the December 16, 2020 Constitutional Force Majeure, to Publicly embrace the Propositions and take up specific responsibilities for any aspects of the wide gamut of Tasks that must be performed to achieve our Collective Extrication from the Caliphate Prison and Union of Death that Unitary Nigeria has become for its Constituent Component Blocs especially to the South and Middle-Belt under the Rogue 1999 Constitution.
NINAS Secretariat.
