New commissioner of police of Kwara State, Mohammed Lawal Bagega, has called on residents in Kwara to be more forthcoming with detailed and we’ll investigated information to help proper policing of the state in the face of growing security challenges in the country.
The commissioner made this call at his maiden meeting with journalists in Ilorin at the police headquarters after taking over from the former CP, Kayode Egbetokun who has since been redeployed to Lagos.
Bagega said that under his watch, he would be redoubling efforts to tame incidents of cultism, kidnapp and terrorism given the proximity of Kwara to Niger where banditry has assumed worrisome dimension.
“I held meetings with heads of departments, area commanders, DPOs and tactical teams.
“We collectively agreed to ensure that adequate security is provided for the people so that they can go about their lawful businesses,” the CP said.
He also added that government and private businesses will operate without hindersnce in the state.
