Attestation to South East deserverdness to produce the next president of the country in 2023 came from an unlikely quarter after Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kola Wole, on Monday, said the region and his North Central deserve consideration for the position.
Wole also is the Treasurer of Conference of Speakers of Nigeria.
He also explained that the two areas of North Central bloc and the South East region have not tasted the position while others have.
The Kogi Assembly speaker spoke on the occasion of his consultative meeting with Speaker and members of Ebonyi State House of Assembly in the company of his own colleagues at the Speaker’s Lodge, Abakaiki.
Wole said it is therefore natural that his young Governor, Yahaya Bello be given support to be the next president, noted that when that is considered and given the nod, it would be sure that Governor David Umahi would become the Vice President.
He sent congratulations to the Ebonyi Speaker, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru as Treasurer, Conference Speakers.
He explained that the decision by Governor David Umahi to join the ruling APC was the best decision.
” Your people will benefit more.
“We in Kogi House have robust relationships with the executive arm.For best functionality you need cordiality with other arms.
“Our Governor youngest and doing well including security. We are borded by 9 States. When got here saw women are members of House. We don’t have but all VCs are women. SSG is a woman.
My Governor, yet to be 46 years, has done well.
We passed vote of confidence on him.
North Central and South East are the only zones that has not produced the President. If our Governor is given the support our party will give the VP to Umahi.
Wole however noted that when he raised the matter with Speaker Nwifuru, he said Umahi should first have the slot.
